The Chief Minister of Gujarat Anandi Ben Patel has introduced Ujala Gujarat Yojana for Distributing Free LED Bulb at a subsidized rate in Gujarat. This scheme launched in 26 may 2017 and within two months, about 1.20 Crore LED bulbs distributed to the 24 lakh families in Gujarat. Under this scheme, the government has distributing LED bulb at the highly subsidized rate. Recently, the government has reduced price of Ujala LED bulbs by Rs. 10. The bulb under the Ujala Gujarat Yojana has 3 years replacement warranty. The state government has planned to distribute more than 12 Crore LED bulbs within few years for more than 1.21 crore household in the state. In this scheme, one household gets maximum 10 LED bulbs in the first phase and the amount will be charged in 8-10 installments through the electricity bill. UJALA scheme aims to promote efficient use of energy at the residential level, enhance the awareness of consumers about the efficacy of using energy efficient LED bulb and aggregating demand to reduce the high initial costs thus facilitating higher uptake of LED lights by residential users

Eligibility for Ujala Gujarat Yojana:
- Applicant should be resident of Gujarat state
- All citizen of Gujarat state is eligible for this Ujala Gujarat Yojana

- Aadhaar card
- Monthly electricity bill
How to apply for Ujala Gujarat Yojana:
- Government has set up 615 distribution centers across the Gujarat state to distribute LED bulb for the consumer
- The consumer also visit Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) offices in Taluka/districts in Gujarat state
