Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship

Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship Fund (VKSSF), established by World Konkani Centre, Mangaluru, will award merit-cum-means scholarships worth Rs 3.5 crore to students from Konkani speaking communities. The programme assists the Konkani community students to obtain scholarships to various programmes under different disciplines. The scholarships are granted for Bachelor’s Degree programmes, Master’s Degree programmes as well as Study Abroad programmes. The main criterion for getting selected for a Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship is that the student should be Konkani and use Konkani as their mother tongue.

Benefits of Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship:

• The 2000 candidate has been awarded with Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship
• For Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering and Medical only): The scholarship of Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 40,000/- per student will be given every year
• For Master’s Degree: The rate at which the scholarship is offered differs from course to course and discipline to discipline for Master’s Degree
• For Study Abroad: The applicant who will selected to study abroad under the scholarship scheme will be awarded with an amount of Rs. 1,00,000/- per year

Required Eligibility and Conditions for Applying Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship:

1. The candidates must have Konkani language as their mother tongue
2. The Family Income of the candidate should not exceed Rs. 4.5 Lakhs per annum
3. The student must obtain 70% marks in qualifying examination and entrance rank within 20,000

Document Required for Applying Konkani Student Scholarship:

1. Passport Size photograph
2. Copy of results of all semesters’ examinations passed by the University
3. Copy of latest fee receipts issued by the University/Institutes
4. Copy of Ration Card/Adhar Card/Voter I-Card/Pass-Port/Pan-Card or any other residence proof
5. Statement of Bank Account of the father/mother/self for the last six months
6. The Income certificate

Application Procedure:                                            

1. In order to apply for scholarship, the students have to fill online application form on the following website: http://konkanischolarship.com/#section1. The online application form for scholarship Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship contains three steps which must be completed as mentioned below
2. Create a SCAP account: Students desirous of availing Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship, have to create Scholarship Common Application Platform (SCAP) account and get login Id and password
3. Build your SCAP Profile: Once you have created your SCAP account, you can log in to your account to create SCAP Profile. There are 8 sections in SCAP profile which must be filled out thoroughly
4. Search and apply: Once you have created your SCAP Profile you can search the scholarship by just clicking on the search button and the system will show you the list of scholarships on the basis of your SCAP Profile. View the scholarship details, carefully go through the terms and conditions and click on the apply tab to apply
