On September 7,2020, CMO Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, launched YSR Sampoorna Poshana Scheme. This scheme is mainly launched for providing nutritious food to pregnant women, lactating mothers and children. The aim of the scheme is to improve the health and well being of women and children in the state thereby helping them to overcome the issues of malnutrition and anemia.

Scheme Details and Benefits:
- The main objective of the scheme is to provide necessary nutritional food to maternal women and children
- Hot milk, rice, pulses, vegetables, chicken, eggs for 25 days a month will be provided to the pregnant and lactating women
- Take home nutrition kit will also be provided
- In the Take home nutrition kit, 250g peanut butter, 1kg copper flour, 250g jaggery, 250g dried dates and 1 kg flour will be provided every month
- Arrangements will be made to provide the nutritious food by the government through the Anganwadi centres
- It will be implemented through 47,287 centres across the state
- It aims at improving the nutritional health of mothers and children.
- It tends to improve the health, hygiene and nutritional status of the women and children.

- This scheme was launched at the camp office in the presence of Ministers Taneti Vanitha, Botsa Satyanarayana and Shankar Narayana.

- Around 5.80 lakh women are to be benefitted through this scheme
- The total outlay of the scheme is Rs. 591.60 crore at the rate of Rs. 850 per person-per month
- The scheme is aimed to be launched on an experimental basis in 7 mandalas and then in the entire state
- Along with this scheme CM also launched YSR Sampoorna Poshana plus scheme wherein children from 3 months to 6 years are covered
