The Shivraj Singh Chauhan led Madhya Pradesh is now planning to launch a mega scheme for the farmers in the state. The scheme will guarantee 50% profit on total cost of sowing. This is assumed to be a big bonaza for farmers in MP after loan waiver and Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana
Farmer welfare and agriculture development minister Gourishankar Bisen confirmed that the government is working on the 50% profit guarantee for farmers and high level committee is working on preparing draft of the scheme. The scheme is assumed to help BJP in the upcoming elections. One the scheme is ready it will be launched in a big event a kisan mahapanchayat where lakhs of farmers will be invited along with topmost BJP leaders at the national level.
50% profit guarantee for farmers is the ambitious scheme by the CM himself and has asked officials to draft the scheme. The biggest challenge they are going to have is to know the correct sowing area of each of the farmers as the scheme is based on that. The government has constituted expert committee for the same which includes agriculture commissioner, head of Mandi Board, vice-chancellor of Gwalior agriculture university, a former chief secretary, two agriculture economists and three farmer’s representatives.
The 50% profit guarantee draft is in initial states and is assumed to be completed in a couple of months and launched in June since the model code of conduct for the next elections starts from October.
The last MP government scheme for farmers Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana was a hit and center government is likely to adopt to the scheme. The panel from the MP government gave a presentation Delhi on the same.
