Government of Rajasthan has launched the Annapurna Milk Scheme (AMS). The scheme is an extension to the popular mid-day meal scheme and under the scheme hot milk will be distributed to the school children. The scheme is launched by the Chief Minister of Rajasthan Smt. Vasundhara Raje. 62 lakh students studying in government schools & madrasas gets benefited from the scheme. They will get milk thrice a week and students from class 1st till class 8th are eligible for the scheme. Students from class 1st till 5th will get 150 milliliters and those from class 6th till 8th will get 200 milliliters of hot milk trice in a week. 5 5 lakh liters of milk is required everyday for the schemes implementation.

- The AMS scheme was announced by the government in the budget 2018-19
- The budget of Rs 218 crore is allocated to the scheme

- The scheme will be implemented across the state
- 5 lakh liters of milk will be required everyday to served in schools and madrasas
- Priority will be given to milk producers committees run by women for supply of milk to various schools
- Parents and teachers are required to taste the milk before it is given to the children to ensure the quality of the millk
