Uttarakhand government has come up with ‘Atal Poshan Bhatta Yojana’ in the state. Labour Minister Mr. Harak Singh Rawat, launched the scheme from his constituency Kotdwar. This scheme is mainly for the children of labourers in the labour department. Under the scheme the children of registered labourers will get an assistance of Rs. 1500/- per month in case of death of both the parents. This scheme is mainly to provide a security and assistance to the children of labourers in case of unforeseen incident of death.

Scheme Objectives and Benefits:
- The main objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the children of the deceased labourers of the department
- This scheme will cover all the registered employees of the department
- An allowance of Rs. 1,500/- per month will be provided to the child until he/she attains majority or is above 18 years of age
- Under the scheme department will be providing financial and social security to the children of the labourers even after their death.

Scheme Details:
- Atal Poshan Bhatta Yojana is a scheme launched by the labour department of the state for the children of deceased labourers of the department
- In case of death of both the parents the children will be given a monthly allowance of Rs. 1,500/- per month
- This scheme covers the families of registered labourers of the department
- In case of new registration, the worker will have to visit any CSC centre in the state and register himself
- A labour card will be issued after registration
- Initially the worker had to visit the labour department premises for registration, but now the process is simplified with the opening of CSC centres at various places
- The labourers can also renew their old labour cards from the CSC centres
- The process is easy and simplified for the benefit of the labourers
- Labour Minister, Harak Singh Rawat introduced this scheme from Kotdwar
- For the start of the scheme, he gave cheques to 2 children of the deceased labourers of the department
- Similarly, the process will be carried out for other eligible beneficiaries
