Award for Rural Adolescent Girls is the scheme under which the Haryana government will award the adolescent girl child of rural area for performing well in her Secondary School Examination (Matriculation exam) and will motivate them to proceed for higher education. The state is already known for worst sex ratio in India, and discrimination is at peak. In between this the introduction of the scheme is the hope that in the coming time situation will be little better. The scheme provides scholarship to top 3 girls from every block of the state but should be from rural area. This will improve the condition of women in Haryana, still the state has to go far to make its conditions better. Since girls are getting educated there will be whole new generation in Haryana which will have empowered women which will provide same facilities to her off springs.
Benefits of Award for Rural Adolescent Girls:
- 2000 first prize: The girl performing well and secures first prize will get Rs. 2000 scholarship
- 1500 second prize: The girl who secures second position will get Rs. 1500 scholarship
- 1000 first prize: Girl child on third position will get Rs. 1000
- Women empowerment: There are very few initiatives to empower women. With this scheme girl child will get an opportunity to get well educated
Eligibility for Award for Rural Adolescent Girls:
- Must be the resident of Haryana state
- School must be from rural area
- Must have secured good marks in her matriculation exam

- Residential Proof (electricity bill, water connection bill, gas connection bill, ration card, voter id, Aadhar card, pan card or driving license)
- Aadhar Card
- Matriculation mark sheet
Application form:
There is no need to apply for the award, schools sends the data of all students to the board and shortlisted candidate gets award on merit basis.
