The Odisha Government has announced Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana (BPGY) for 13 thousand cyclone Titli hit families in the state. All those whose houses were destroyed in the cyclone will get financial assistance under the scheme. The main objective of the scheme is to support the 13 K affected families and help them get back to the normal life. The CM Odisha Naveen Patnaik announced the scheme after a high-level meeting.
Rs. 176 crores will be required for the construction of the houses under the scheme. The CM has directed concerned departments to issue work order and start the construction of the houses as early as possible. The CM is committed to complete the construction work in the stipulate time.
Construction material will be taken form the local traders and self-help groups (SHGs) in order the boost the local economy and to support SHGs. The SHGs will be given extra financial assistance as well.

Eligibility to apply for Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana: Applicable only to the cyclone Titli-hit families in the Odisha only
Government is planning to take assistance from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Trainings will be provided to the masons and SHGs for preparation of the construction material. Ganjam and Gajapati districts were worst hit in the Odisha. The work orders will be issued by the Panchayati Raj department by end of November 2018 and the work will start in December 2018. The construction of houses will be completed in next 6 months. Collectors of the affected districts are instructed to identify list of beneficiaries and issue them the grant for construction of houses.
