On June 18, 2021, Delhi cabinet minister, Mr. Rajendra Pal Gautam announced that the online or offline classes for students belonging to reserved categories registered under City government scheme are planned to be resume soon keeping in view the covid regulations. The scheme was started by the state government for the benefit of candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC and EWS categories. Under the scheme the beneficiary students are provided with free private coaching in big renowned institutes. Coaching is provided for competitive examinations like JEE, NEET and Civil services. This initiative intends to motivate the children belonging to  underprivileged sections in the state to learn more and achieve new heights.

• The main objective of the scheme is to provide free coaching to the reserved categories and underprivileged students in the state who are wishing to prepare for exams like JEE, NEET and Civil services
• The scheme enables the reserved categories like SC/ ST/ OBC and EWS students to pursue higher education to prepare them for competitive examinations
• It provides help to the students to study irrespective of financial constraints and difficulties
• This initiative encourages the students to pursue higher studies and crack the examination

• Due to the lockdown and pandemic situations around, the classes of other students were continuously going on, but in such situations the reserved categories students should not be left behind in any manner
• Thus, now the classes for them are to be resumed soon
• Guidelines had been issued to the officers of ST-SC department regarding the same
• A monitoring team will be set up to keep a check on the coaching institutes and students
• Final decisions will soon be taken and safety of students will also be kept in view
• Minister stated, if it not possible to conduct offline physical classes then coaching of children should be started through online classes
• It aims at shaping the future of children without being hindered by the pandemic situations around.
