Amid the pandemic situations, Tripura education department launched a new portal for Online admissions into 22 government general degree colleges in the state. Education Minister of Tripura, Mr. Ratan Lal Nath, launched the portal on August 4, 2020. Through this portal the students can easily take admissions in the colleges of their preferences online without having to go in the colleges in person. The entire process of admissions will be conducted online on the portal.

How to Register and Apply:
For registration, the students can visit the portal @ highereducation.tripura.gov.in
Then click on the Online Admission in General Degree Colleges 2020 tab
- Go through the instructions given thereby and Tick on the Declaration of understanding the terms
- Enter email id and Proceed
- Then the student will be directed to the registration page, wherein the details like full name, DOB, gender, Address details, mobile no., category, pin code, etc are to be filled in
- Then the educational details like, SSC, HSC and other relevant marks, year of appearing, roll no., etc are to be filled in
- Then the student has to select his/her preferred colleges from the list of colleges available on the portal
- Then the scanned copies of documents are to be uploaded
- After filling all the details and uploading all the documents, the student should once verify the correctness of the same and click on Submit.
- After successful submission the candidate will receive an acknowledgement receipt with the application number, to the registered mobile and email
- The candidate should keep the receipt and no. for future reference
- The duly filled and submitted form can also be downloaded and printed from the portal
The application and documents will be verified by the concerned department and then college will be allotted as per the eligibility norms and preference of student.
Prerequisites before applying on the portal

- A scanned Photograph, Signature
- Scanned copies of relevant mark-sheets and certificates (mainly SSC and HSC) for undergraduate courses
- Degree mark-sheets and certificate for post graduate courses
Process:
- The admission process started from August 10 and will continue till August 10
- Students should register themselves on the portal and then apply
- Students can apply in minimum 6 and maximum 15 colleges as per their own choice
- 3 merit lists will be declared on August 15, August 29 and September 3 respectively
- Admission confirmation will be notified between August 26 and September 5,2020.
- Shortlisting will be done only on the basis of common merit of the applicant students
- Education department has fixed a maximum seat limit in each class as per the teacher student ratio
- Telephonic guidance and Email support are available for the students facing difficulty in the online admission process
Key Points:
- The portal is mainly launched to ease the difficulty and help students to take admission in their preferred college while staying home
- All the additional charges like online portal registration charges, college development fees, tuition fees will be waived off. Only the university registration and some nominal fees will be applicable to be paid by the students.
- Post admissions, the regular classes will be held for students through online mode using Skype, upGrad, Microsoft and other applications.
