Telangana government newly introduced ‘Dalit empowerment scheme’ on March 18, 2021. The scheme details were provided by State Finance Minister, T Harish Rao while presenting the state budget. Under this scheme, measures will be taken for upliftment of the Scheduled Castes in state. This scheme will enable overall development of the conditions of people belonging to scheduled castes in the state. Efforts will be taken to enable the people to earn their living and improve their standard of living. It aims to make them self-reliant with improved socio-economic backgrounds. State government has set aside a budget of Rs. 1000 crores for this initiative.
