To encourage people to use energy cost saving Air Conditioners (ACs) to conserve the energy across the state

On June 30, 2021 Haryana government came up with a unique scheme named Demand Side management-AC Scheme for energy conservation. This scheme was launched by Haryana Power Minister, Mr. Ranjit Singh. Under the scheme, about 1.1 lakh Air Conditioners (ACs) will be made available to the rural as well as urban consumers at a discount of 59% on the MRP (minimum retail price). This scheme aims at encouraging people to buy energy saving ACs. Consumers can also exchange the old ACs. As compared to old ACs 657 power units thereby leading to an annual savings of up to Rs. 5,000/-. It will help the consumers to reduce their power bills. Government will also provide subsidies for buying these ACs. This scheme will contribute to reduction in energy consumption thus conserving the energy in the state.

Scheme Objectives and Benefits:

  • The main objective of the scheme is to reduce the total domestic consumption of energy
  • Under the scheme government will provide ACs to the consumers at 59% discount on MRP

  • The compressor will get a warranty of up to 10 years and all other equipment up to 1 year
  • Fitting of ACs will be done free of cost in homes of the consumers by the authorized dealers
  • Consumers will have to apply for the benefit under the scheme on state electricity department’s web portal @ https://acreplacementscheme.uhbvn.org.in
  • The last date to apply under this scheme is set as August 24, 2021
