DIKSHA – Digital Infrastructure for School Education is an initiative of the National Council of Educational Research and Training under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. DIKSHA portal was launched by Vice President of India on September 5, 2017. It is an open-source diverse platform made available for all the states and union territories across the country. It is a common digital platform at national level for teachers, students and parents. It enables teachers to have access to training content, in class resources, assessment aids, news and announcements, teacher community, etc. It is a core digital mechanism for teacher education and training. It also enables students to get access to study material by scanning the textbook QR codes. At the occasion of completion of one year to the New Education Policy (NEP), Prime Minister launched various reforms contributing to the transformation of education system. During the launch PM also stated that DIKSHA portal which is government’s e-learning portal get about 5 crore hits per day and has got about 23 crore hits in the last year.
