On January 10, 2021, Tamil Nadu government came up with a new initiative to provide ‘Free 2GB data per day’ to the students for studying through online classes uninterruptedly. CM Edapaddi K Palaniswami announced the details. This initiative will run from the month of January 2021 to April 2021. This will help the students to study online and attend the online classes in the current situations of pandemic. This initiative tends to benefit about 9 lakh students in the state. This facility is made available to the students in government, government aided arts, science, polytechnic and engineering colleges along with students receiving scholarships in private colleges.
