General Training Scheme for Women launched by Ministry of Women and Child Development (Women Economic Development Corporation), Government of Gujarat. The scheme primarily aims at economic upliftment of women living below the poverty line and providing skill-based training to them either for traditional or non-traditional economic activity. Under this scheme, women are trained in the fields of computer, soft toys, embroidery, patchwork, readymade garments, electric appliances repairing, motor driving etc. A unique initiative of Gujarat government helping several women to be empowered and self-reliant along with encouraging them to be economically and socially sound so that they also may contribute to the development of the state. All women living below poverty line and resident of Gujarat is eligible under this scheme. Benefits of General Training Scheme for Women in Gujarat:

• General Training Scheme for Women encourages women to be self-reliant and empowered. To accomplish scheme purpose Gujarat Women Economic Development Corporation started providing skill-based training to needy women either for traditional or non-traditional economic activity
• Scheme provides free training to women to be entrepreneur, self
• Under this scheme, women are trained in the fields of computer, soft toys, embroidery, patchwork, readymade garments, electric Appliances repairing, motor driving etc.
• The scheme helps with some financial assistance/ stipend Rs. 250 per month

Required eligibility and conditions applying for General Training Scheme for Women:

1. Women resident of Gujarat
2. Women of age 18 to 35 are eligible
3. Women belong to BPL (Below Poverty Line)
4. Disable women are eligible
5. Women of all category can apply
6. Annual income should be less
7. Rural and urban artisan women are eligible

2. BPL Ration card
3. Passport size photograph
4. Residence proof: Domicile certificate, Residence certificate etc.
5. Identity proof: Voter ID, Birth certificate
6. PAN card
