Rajasthan government has planned a new scheme named ‘Ghar Ghar Aushadhi’ to promote the use of ayurvedic and medicinal herbs across the state. Amidst the prevalent second wave of Covid-19 pandemic the state government plans to implement the scheme for boosting the immunity and defence mechanism of the citizens of the state. Under this scheme medicinal plants like Tulsi, Ashwagandha, Giloy and Kalmegh will be distributed. It aims at protecting health status of the citizens. State Forest Department will be the nodal agency to implement the scheme in collaboration with Public representatives, Panchayati Raj houses and Industrial houses. The state government has sanctioned Rs. 210 crores for this scheme.

Objectives and Benefits:
- The main objective of the scheme is to provide medicinal plants such as Tulsi, Ashwagandha, Giloy and Kalmegh to everyone

- Each family will be provided with 24 saplings in all over a period of 5 years
- Plants will be distributed to beneficiaries with Aadhaar card which will also help in maintaining records

- The state cabinet has planned Ghar Ghar Aushadhi as the theme for Van Mahotsava to be held in the month of July
