The Inlaks Fellowship for Indian Classical Music is launched by Shivdasani Foundation. This scheme especially launched for a student who wishes to build career in the music field. The main objective behind introducing this scheme is to encourage students to be a part of Indian classical music. Under this scheme or this scheme offers to pursue additional training with a musician (vocalist or instrumentalist, other than one’s regular guru) or with artists from other areas of performance and undertake performance-related research (including language and poetry) that enriches their own learning or practice. The scheme also provides some financial assistance to the selected students like the award is a sum of Rs. 1, 20,000 for a period of one year. Required eligibility and conditions for applying Inlaks Fellowship for Indian Classical Music:
- The applicant for this fellowship must be an Indian citizen, currently resident in India
- The applicant must be practicing vocal music in the Indian classical tradition
- The recipient should not be holding a similar/ government scholarship or award during the same tenure
- Applicant should be below the age of 30 years on 31st December in the year of application
Document required for applying Inlaks Fellowship for Indian Classical Music:
- An application on plain paper with details of name, educational qualifications, contact address, permanent address, email id, mobile phone number, landline number and evidence of date of birth
- A brief essay giving details of present occupation, achievements to date, guru’s details (not more than 500 words)
- A proposal (300 words) together with agreement letters from candidate’s collaborators, if the candidate is intending to train with another musician or with an artist from another area of performance.
- Three copies of a DVD with your recordings (max 30 minutes in total)
- A complete CV of applicant
