Kishori Shakti Yojana launched by Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of Arunachal Pradesh. Kishori Shakti Yojana aims at improving the health, nutrition, education and social status of adolescent girls (11-18 Years) are at most advantageous level. The main objective is to provide the required literacy and numeracy skills through the non-formal stream of education, to train and equip the adolescent girls to improve or upgrade home-based and vocational skills, to help a teenage girl for better understanding of their social environment and help them to take initiatives to become important members of the society. Kishori Shakti Yojna implemented through Anganwadi Centres in both rural and urban areas. It also gives training to the Anganwadi Workers for providing the proper guidance to the adolescent girls. All girl of age 11 to 18 years is eligible under this scheme; preference is given to younger girls, in the age group of 11-15 years, and belonging to poor families. Those who wish to get benefits can visit the nearest Anganwadi center or meet Anganwadi worker

Benefits of Kishori Shakti Yojana:

• Under this scheme, girls are given Health Checkup by Anganwadi centers
• Kishori Shakti Yojana focuses on women empowerment, as the name itself suggests, is aimed to provide supportive environment for self-development
• The adolescent girls are given home-based and vocational skills, awareness on health, hygiene, nutrition, family welfare, home management and child care guidance etc.
• The scheme lays stress on enabling girls to have a full understanding of social, economic and political issues. It will not only educate women on their status, rights and privileges but also generate awareness about women’s health, nutrition, education, sanitation, and hygiene
• This scheme empowers women both socially and economically

Eligibility for Kishori Shakti Yojana:

1. Girls should be resident of Arunachal Pradesh state
2. Adolescent girls within the age group of 11 to 18 years are eligible for this scheme
3. Anganwadi workers who provide guidance to adolescent girls are eligible to get services under this scheme

Documents required for Kishori Shakti Yojana:

1. Aadhaar card
2. BPL card (if available)
3. Passport size photograph
4. Income certificate
5. Birth certificate of girl beneficiary

Application Procedure:

1. The beneficiary can contact to Anganwadi center or Nearest Department of Women and Child to get benefits of the scheme. No specific application procedure is mentioned
