Madhya Pradesh government has come up with two schemes namely Mukhya Mantri Covid-19 Niyukti Yojana and Mukhya Mantri Covid-19 Vishesh Anugraha Yojana for the welfare of the families of the government employees who lost their lives due to covid. These schemes were announced by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on May 18, 2021. It will tend to provide the required assistance to the families in this crucial period of prevalent second wave of the covid pandemic. Under Mukhya Mantri Covid-19 Niyukti Yojana, on compassionate grounds the government will provide employment in government jobs to the family members of the employee who lost his life to covid. Under Mukhya Mantri Covid-19 Vishesh Anugraha Yojana, in the event of death of the employee due to covid the government would provide an immediate financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakhs to the family.

Objectives and Benefits:
- The main objective of these schemes is to assist the families of the state government employees in case of death of the employee
- These schemes will cover all the families of regular, permanent employees, daily wage earners, ad hoc, contractual, outsourced, other government servants/ employees of the state
- On compassionate grounds the government will provide employment in government jobs to the family members of the employee who lost his life to covid
- Financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakhs will also be provided as an immediate assistance to the family in case of death
- These schemes will assist the families and ensure their welfare in these unprecedented times

- Under Mukhya Mantri Covid-19 Vishesh Anugraha Yojana the government will provide an immediate financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakhs as ex-gratia to the family in the event of death of the employee due to covid.
- Anganwadi workers, assistants, ASHA workers, village kotwars, etc will also be covered under the scheme
- These schemes will ensure immediate financial assistance and livelihood opportunities to the dependent family members
- Mukhya Mantri Covid-19 Niyukti Yojana will be in operation from March 1, 2021 to June 30, 2021 and Mukhya Mantri Covid-19 Vishesh Anugraha Yojana will be in operation from March 30, 2021 to July 31, 2021
- While announcing the schemes CM also praised all the government employees who have been working on field relentlessly amidst the pandemic
- He also stated, many state government employees had lost their lives while on duty due to covid and thus welfare and assistance to the families of such employees is now a responsibility of the state government.
