Uttarakhand Government launched Mukhyamantri Anchal Amrit Yojana (MAAY) for school children in the state. Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat launched the scheme in Dehradun. Under the scheme free milk will be provided twice a week to the children in Anganwadi Kendras.
2.5 lakh children studying in 20,000 Anganwadi Kendras will be given 100 ml milk twice a week for free.

There are 18,000 students who suffer malnutrition in the state. The Mukhyamantri Anchal Amrit Yojana (MAAY) is expected to reduce the malnutrition rates. State government will provide flavoured, sweet, skimmed milk powder to the schools. They will be instructed to provide the free milk to the children twice a week.
