To enable betterment and welfare of children across the state who lost both the parents/ at least one of the parents due to covid / राज्य भर में उन बच्चों की बेहतरी और कल्याण को सक्षम करने के लिए जिन्होंने  कोविड के कारण माता-पिता दोनों को खो दिया।

On May 29, 2021 the Tripura government announced a new initiative named ‘Mukhyamantri Balya Sewa Prakalpa’ for the children who lost their parents due to covid. This announcement was made by Chief Minister Biplab Deb during a top-level meeting at the state secretariat. Under this initiative the state government will provide free education and take various welfare measures pay for those children who lost their parents (at least one of them due to covid) and are facing hardships. For children staying in orphanages the state government will provide free education to them and in case the child stays with his/ her guardian a financial assistance of Rs. 3,500 per month will be provided to the guardian till the child turns 18 years of age. Upbringing and education of such children will be taken care of by the government. In case of girl who lost her parents and is of marriageable age the government will provide a one-time assistance of Rs. 50,000 for her marriage. This is an important step taken by the state government to take care of the children in these tough times.
