Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojna is a scheme launched by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Madhya Pradesh state to ensure that daughters of poor Muslim families are married with honor and respect. Under the scheme, the state government has provided financial assistance for marriage of girls, widows, poor abandoned women, destitute and needy and labour class families. The objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to poor, needy, destitute families for marrying off their daughters/widows/divorcees. The government gave assistance only in mass marriages with the condition that the girl must have completed the age fixed for marriage by Indian law. Madhya Pradesh government provides financial assistance of Rs 16,000 to the established household under the Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojana. The state government also decided to fixed the amount of Rs. 6,000 per girl for 5 years at the time of marriage. The marriage of a girl is a big worry for a poor family, who do not have enough money even for meeting their daily requirements or even expenses on a daughter’s wedding. Madhya Pradesh government has taken excellent initiative for helping poor families rid of this worry and assist them financially

- Benefits of financial assistance Rs. 16000 per marriage girl along with government deposited the fixed amount of Rs. 6,000 per girl for 5 years at the time of marriage
- The government also gives financial assistance to Nagar Nigam or gram panchayat for organizing common marriages ceremony of Rs. 3000
Eligibility for Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojna:
- Candidate must be resident of Madhya Pradesh
- Candidate must belong to Muslim community
- Girls, widows, poor abandoned women, destitute, needy and labour class families are eligible for Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojana
- Girl’s age should be more than 18 years and boy’s age should be more than 21 years
- If the candidate is widow/separated then additional documents are required:
- Ex-husband’s death certificate in case of widow
- Court Orders in case of Divorcee
Documents Required for Mukhyamantri Nikah Yojna:
- Age proof certificates
- Caste certificate
- Domicile certificate
- BPL card
- Passport size photos both groom and bride
- Bank account details
- Death certificate of widow’s husband if applicable
- Court Orders in case of divorcee
How to apply for Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojna:
- Applicant fill the application form along with all the necessary documents and submitted to the office of Gram Panchayat or Janpad Panchayat for rural Area & Nagar Nigam, Nagar Panchayat or Nagar Parishad for Urban Area
