Overseas Scholarship for Backword Class Students

The Overseas Scholarship for Backward class students is the scheme started by the Government of Andhra Pradesh for providing financial assistance to BC students for pursuing higher study in abroad for post-graduation degree and for Ph.D. students. This scheme is to encourage a large number of Backward Class students to complete professional Courses and other Graduate Courses. The scheme is to provide them an opportunity to have international collaborative research opportunities, training in advanced techniques and technologies in emerging fields thereby enhancing their research capacity and ability to contribute to higher education with global perspective and forging. The scheme is given to the 1000 Backward class students.

Benefits of the Overseas Scholarship for Backword Class Students:

1. The applicant will get a scholarship of Rs. 10 Lakh which will be awarded in two instalments
2. Instalment-I: An amount of Rs. 5.00 lakhs shall be payable to the Students upon production of the landing permit
3. Instalment-II: An amount of Rs.5.00 lakhs shall be payable to the students upon production of the 1st Semester results
4. The awardees are permitted to supplement their prescribed allowances by undertaking Research/Teaching Assistantship

Required Eligibility and Conditions for Applying Overseas Scholarship for Backword Class Students:

1. BC Students whose family income is less than Rs. 6.00 lakh per annum from all sources are eligible
2. The Maximum age under the scheme shall not exceed 35 years as on 1st July of the year of advertisement
3. For Post Graduate Course: Degree  in Engineering / Management / Pure Sciences /Agriculture Sciences / Medicine & Nursing /Social Sciences/Humanities
4. For PhD Course: G course in Engineering / Management / Pure Sciences / Agriculture Sciences / Medicine  / Social Sciences/ Humanities
5. Countries eligible under the Scheme: USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Germany, New Zealand, Sweden, Netherlands, France, Denmark, Russia, Philippines, Kazakhstan and China (Philippines, Kazakhstan and China only for medicine)
6. He/she should have a valid TOEFL/IELTS & GRE/GMAT
7. He/she should have obtained admission in an accredited Foreign University
8. He/she should possess a valid Passport
9. The Candidates are required to make their own efforts in seeking admission in accredited University/Institution abroad
10. The applications should be complete in all respects and should be accompanied by all relevant documents. The applications incomplete in any respect, are liable to be rejected

Document Required for Applying Overseas Scholarship for Backword Class Students:

1. Caste Certificate from Mee Seva
2. Income Certificate from Mee Seva
3. Date of Birth certificate
4. Aadhar card
5. E-pass ID Number
6. Residential/Nativity certificate
7. Passport copy
8. Mark sheet from SSC/Inter/Graduate/PG level
9. GRE /GMAT or equivalent qualifying exam/test score card
10. TOFEL / IELTS score card
11. Admission offer letter from Foreign University (I-20, letter of Admission or equivalent
12. Copy of the latest Tax assessment is to be enclosed
13. Copy of Bank Pass Book of Nationalized Bank
14. Photo to be scanned and uploaded

Application Procedure:

1. The application shall be made under the scheme online at http://www.epass.cgg.gov.in
2. Notification shall be issued in leading dailies calling for applications and wide publicity will be given in University Campuses and in e-PASS portal in August/September
3. Application filled should submitted online and upload all the documents
