The Andhra Pradesh government has announced Pasupu Kumkuma Scheme for women members of the Self Help Groups (SHGs). Incentive of Rs. 10,000 along with free smartphone will be given to all the beneficiaries of the scheme.
The primary objective of the scheme is to empower SHG women members. 93 lakh women members of the SHGs registered under DWCRA program will be benefited with the scheme. The AP government has alloted budget of Rs. 9400 crore for the scheme. 1.4 crore mobile phones will be purchased by the state government for the distribution.
The Andra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu announced the scheme at Pasupu Kumkuma meeting held at capital Amravathi, Kadapa & Visakhapatnam on 25 January 2019.

Cash incentives will be distributed in three installments. The payments will be made as per the schedule mentioned below:

Pasupu Kumkuma Scheme Eligibility:
- Applicable only in Andhra Pradesh
- Applicable to women members of Self-Help Groups only
- Applicable only for those SHGs which are registered under DWCRA
The state government is very keen on the women empowerment & to make sure that women live their lives with self respect & dignity. AP government has already directed state DWCRA to focus on the women development & to involve them in the implementation of various government schemes.
