The Government of Jharkhand launched Shaheed Gram Vikas Yojana for development of the freedom fighter`s villages in Jharkhand. The scheme was inaugurated by the BJP president Mr. Amit Shah along with Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on 18th Sept 2017. The announcement was made in a government function celebrating Shaheed Bisra Munda`s birthday in a village called Ulihatu where he was born.
The mission of the Shaheed Gram Vikas Yojana is to develop tribal villages of the mryters and freedom fighters. Under the scheme the government of Jharkhand will be constructing pucca houses having two rooms, varanda, bathroom and toilet. Gas connections, solar lamps etc were distributed on the occasion at the hands of the BJP president.
Bisara Munda was a tribal leader and freedom fighter belonging to the Munda tribe. He was considered hero and united tribals and led the fight against Britishers at the young age of 25. He led a series of revolts and attacks against the British Government. He was arrested on 3rd Feb 1900 and kept in Ranchi Jail where he died in mysterious conditions on 9 June 1900.
