Student Internship Scheme

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced a cabinet decision of Student Internship scheme on January 31, 2022 in the state. Under this scheme the state government will offer internships to graduates in the state. This scheme will provide opportunities to the graduates to work in the government offices while studying. This internship experience will help the graduates to get newer jobs in future in the government as well as private sectors. This scheme will also cover students of Polytechnic, ITI or equivalent courses. The graduate interns will get Rs 5000 as monthly allowance under this initiative. This scheme will shape the fresher graduates with practical industry experience and help them become independent.

Eligibility:

• Applicant must be a resident of West Bengal state.
• He/ she must possess undergraduate degree with at least 60% marks.
• Applicant age must not be more than 40 years.

Internship Details:

• This is a paid internship.
• Students under all undergraduate courses including polytechnic, ITI and equivalent courses are covered under this internship scheme.
• Internship duration is one year.
• Monthly stipend is Rs 5000/-
• Mode of application is online.
• Selected students will be posted to government offices near their residence.
• Along with industry exposure, the interns will also be provided exposure to various programmes and projects to learn and do social work.
• Internship certificate will be provided after successful completion of internship.
• After completion of the internship, it will be reviewed and the interns performing well in the internship will also get an opportunity to continue working in the office.
• Interns will also be graded to benefit in their future career growth.
