Government of India has launched Swadesh Darshan Scheme, an integrated development of theme based tourist circuits. It is the scheme by the Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India. Under the scheme Central Finance Assistance (CFA). Financial assistance will be provided to the state & union territories for the development of tourist sites in the states.

Under the scheme world class infrastructure will be created at the popular tourist attractions in the country. The government wants to make sure that there is a proper connectivity to them.

- Himalayan Circuit,
- Coastal Circuit,
- Krishna Circuit,
- Desert Circuit,
- Tribal Circuit,
- Eco Circuit,
- Wildlife Circuit,
- Rural Circuit,
- Spiritual Circuit,
- Ramayana Circuit &
- Heritage Circuit
Government agencies will also work with the local communities to understand the importance of tourism & how it can help them create livelihood for them. The primary focus is to create public facilities, last mile connectivity, tourists reception centers, way-side amenities, solid waste management, illuminations, landscaping & parking etc.

A budget of Rs. 2055.96 were allocated earlier which is used for the development of 60 such sites. The on-going work will be completed by December 2019. A fresh budget of Rs. 324.09 crore is allocated for the development of 6 tourist places. These projects will be completed by September 2020.
