Chief Minister K Palaniswami of Tamil Nadu has announced a scheme for Rural industrial units. It is a special financial assistant scheme for rural area of the state. The objective of the scheme is boost rural economy and create jobs. It has around 1.39 lakh beneficiaries who are effected by COVID-19 pandemic. Under the scheme beneficiaries can get long term loan up to Rs.159.76 crore.This scheme is linked with the Tamil Nadu Rural Transformation Project (TNRTP).

Tamil Nadu Rural Transformation Project (TNRTP) implementation so far:
- Municipal Administration and Water Supply department of Tamil Nadu has implemented several of projects in 13 districts with cost of Rs 296.29 crore.
- Palani chettipatti of Theni district has started sewerage project under the scheme with the cost of Rs 34.67 crore.
- Tamil Nadu Government has budget of Rs.54.46 lakh to save damages of tapioca crop from insect in Namakkal, Salem, Erode and Kanyakumari districts of Tamil Nadu.
- Investment of Rs. 7.44 crore to establish sports facilities and play ground in Chengalpet, Kancheepuram and the Nilgiris districts.
- Rs. 57.53 crore for construction of 27 schools, two panchayat union-level training centers and one for the district-level center for school teachers which covered by 12 districts.
- Abhinaya will get help of Rs.2 lakh for participating in international science meet.
