On October 13, 2020 the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED) under the Ministry of Affairs in collaboration with IIT Kanpur and Chhattisgarh MFP Federation launched the Tech for Tribals scheme in Chhattisgarh. This scheme is for the betterment of the tribal community. It mainly focuses on the development of entrepreneurship skills, soft skills, IT and Business development. This scheme will be operated through the Self-Help Groups operating through the Van Dhan Kendras. Training programmes for the tribal communities will be conducted under this scheme. This will be a crucial step in making the tribal community Aatmanirbhar’

- Under this scheme, training will be provided to the tribal communities for the development of their entrepreneurship skills, business and management skills
- Training sessions will be conducted in all the districts of the state
- The scheme will enable holistic development of the tribal communities
- It will also open various employment and income earning opportunities for the tribal communities
- It will lead to overall rural and tribal development in the state in the long run
Scheme Details:
- Tech for Tribals scheme is launched by the TRIFED in associations with IIT-Kanpur and Chhattisgarh MFP Federation on October 13, 2020 in Chhattisgarh
- This scheme is mainly launched for the development for the tribal community
- Under this scheme, the beneficiaries in the state will be provided full fledged training
- This training will be mainly for the development of entrepreneurial, business and management skills of the tribal beneficiaries
- It will also focus on the development of the soft skills
- Training will be imparted across all the districts of the state
- All sections of micro-enterprise creation, management and functioning will also be covered in the training
- This training will be completed by November 7, 2020
- Training module is prepared by IIT Kanpur
- It will include online lectures, online activities and face to face interactions in class rooms, practical, onsite and exposure visits
- Self Help Groups (SHGs) operating through Van Dhan Kendras will implement the same
- Thus, this scheme will enable holistic development of the tribal communities across the state.
