To empower young women through education and skill training, the chief minister of Jharkhand Raghubar Das has launched Tejaswini Yojana to provide skill training for women in Jharkhand on the occasion of International Women’s Day. This scheme implements by State women & child welfare department in collaboration with the World Bank. Under this Tejaswini project, the government provides skill training to girls so they can get employment opportunities in the state and also, the government helps to complete the education of girls till metric in the state. The government has planned to start the scheme in 17 out of 24 districts in Jharkhand for women in the age group of 14 to 24 years. The scheme implements in three phases with a total budget allocation of Rs. 600 crore. In the first phase, the scheme starts in Ramgarh, Dumka, Khunti and Chatra districts. In the second phase, the scheme starts in Deoghar, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Palamu and Godda districts. In the third phase, the scheme starts in Latehar, Kodarma, Jamtara, Lohardaga, Saraikela Kharsawan, Simdega, Pakur and East Singbhum districts in Jharkhand. The main advantage of Women Empowerment is that there will be an overall development of the society. The money earns by the women not only help them to make their life easy or their family, but it also helps develop the society

  • It supports market-driven skills training, secondary education and broader socioeconomic empowerment for girls and women
  • The government provides skill training to girls so they can get employment opportunities in the state and also, government helps to complete the education of girls till class 10th in the state

Eligibility for Tejaswini Yojana:

  1. Applicant should be resident of Jharkhand state
  2. All girls and women who belong to age group of 14 to 24 years old are eligible for this scheme

Documents required for Tejaswini Yojana:

  1. Aadhaar card
  2. Birth certificate
  3. Education certificate
  4. Address proof

How to apply for Tejaswini Yojana:

  1. Application is available at various school/Colleges in Jharkhand state
  2. Applicant also visit education office in Taluka/district in Jharkhand state
