To provide a health insurance coverage to maintain life-health balance of people in the state

Rajasthan government launched its much-awaited Universal Health Scheme – ‘Mukhya Mantri Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana’ across the state on May 1, 2021. This scheme was initially announced by the CM on in the state budget for 2021-22. This scheme tends to cover all the families in the state. It will provide the families in the state with annual insurance cover up to Rs. 5 lakhs. Under this scheme, BPL families, small, marginal farmers NFSA beneficiaries and other under privileged sections, will be provided free insurance and Other beneficiaries not covered under any other scheme will be required to pay Rs. 850 annually. In the current covid situations beneficiaries will be provided free treatment under this scheme. In these crucial times this health coverage will turn out to be boon for all the residents.

Objectives and Benefits:

  • The main objective of the scheme is to protect and cover the residents in the state
  • This scheme will provide annual medical insurance cover of Rs. 5 lakhs for each family
  • BPL families, small, marginal farmers NFSA beneficiaries and other under privileged sections, will be provided free insurance
  • Other beneficiaries not covered under any other scheme will be required to pay Rs. 850/- annually
  • It is the first universal health scheme in the state covering all the families across the state
  • Any resident of the state irrespective of the cast, creed, religion, age, gender can avail the benefit of the scheme
  • Beneficiaries will also be given assistance in the Covid situations prevalent in the state and elsewhere
  • Cashless hospitalization in 1092 government and 336 private hospitals, no age restrictions, medical expenses 5 days before hospitalization and 15 days post discharge will be covered under this scheme.

Scheme Details:

  • Universal Health Scheme – Mukhya Mantri Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana is a scheme whereby all the citizens of the state will get health insurance benefits under one insurance cover
  • This scheme was launched and implementation started from May 1, 2021
  • Initially the scheme was announced by the CM in the state budget for 2021-22
  • Registration process of the citizens was started from April 1, 2021
  • It is a universal health scheme, thereby covering all the families in the state under one health insurance cover
  • Under the scheme, each and every family in the state will be provided with annual health insurance coverage of Rs. 5 lakhs
  • BPL families, small, marginal farmers NFSA beneficiaries and other under privileged sections, will be provided free insurance

  • Beneficiaries will get the insurance benefits irrespective of gender, religion, caste, age, etc
  • In view of the currently prevalent second wave of the pandemic, state government has decided to provide assistance in the form of Cashless hospitalization to the beneficiaries taking treatment of covid-19 in 1092 government and 336 private hospitals
  • No age restrictions will be kept, medical expenses 5 days before hospitalization and 15 days post discharge will also be covered under this scheme.
  • Last date of registration for residents has been increased from April 30 to May 31, 2021 keeping in mind the pandemic situations
  • This scheme will secure and cover all the residents of the state
  • In these tough times, this scheme will turn out as a boon to the residents of the state and thereby will also bring reforms in the state health infrastructure
  • It will cover all the citizens and help maintain their life-health balance
  • Total outlay of the scheme is about Rs. 3,500 crores for the current financial year
