The Bihar Government has launched websites bhumijankari.gov.in & lrc.bih.nic.in for online property tax payments, checking property registration and application status of online mutation online (apna khata, jamabandi khata, dakhil kharij) etc. Citizens of Bihar can now check land mutation, pay taxes, check land records online seating at home. The primary objective of the bhumijankari.gov.in & lrc.bih.nic.in portal is to provide all the land and property related services online. It will also make property purchases transparent and prevent fraud in land dealing.
The Chief Minister of Bihar Shree Nitish Kumar launched the online facility. All the district property registration offices will be linked with all the circle offices in Bihar. People of Bihar can complete most of the land related activities themselves online.
Land disputes is the biggest reason for crime in the state. More than 60% of the crime happens due to the land disputes. Online facility to check land records will help reduce criminal cases due to the land related issues and fraud. The main objective of the scheme is to reduce the crime and maintain law and order in Bihar.
