The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has launched “DRDO Scholarship Scheme for Girls” & through Aeronautics Research and Development Board (AR & DB), DRDO HQ.
This scholarship scheme would attract such women power from various institutes through a transparent process with an objective to tap the talent of bright students across the country.
The DRDO RAC has invited online scholarship applications from the Girls / Women students studying in first year of Under Graduate (BE/B.TECH: full time four year degree) and Post Graduate (M.TECH/ME: two year full time degree course) under “DRDO Scholarship Scheme for Girls in Aerospace Engg / Aeronautical Engg / Space Engg & Rocketry /Avionics/ Aircraft Engg” for FY 20-21, Batch-02 for 30 Scholarships.

Educational Qualification and Eligibility: Under DRDO Scholarship Scheme for Girls 2020, the applying candidate must possess a B.E/B.Tech/B. Sc; M.E/M.Tech/M.Sc. in Aerospace/ Aeronautical/Space & Rocketry/Avionics/Aircraft engineering from a NCVT/SCVT recognized University/Institute as specified in the advertisement.
Candidates should be in possession of Essential Qualifications and should have JEE (Main) and GATE valid score” for B. Tech and M. Tech respectively.
Candidates who are doing their current academic year (2020-21) in B. E/ B.Tech/ B.Sc/ M.E/ M.Tech/ M.Sc. in relevant field are eligible to apply for this job. Selection will be based on JEE (Main) score, GATE score.
Selection Process:
- For Under Graduate courses: The selection of candidates for the undergraduate scholarship will be based on a valid JEE (Main) score on merit basis.
- For Post Graduate courses: The selection of candidates for the postgraduate scholarship was based on valid GATE score, on a merit basis.
During the tenure under scholarship, Post Graduate and Undergraduate scholars are required to pass all the tests and examination and also maintain a cumulative grade point average of 7.00 or 70 per cent marks. Those who will not pass the examination will not get the scholarship amount of the particular year.

- Enter the required details and click on register.
- Fill in the application form and click on submit.
The scheme is free from any bond obligation. However, the scholars of the scheme will have to do their major final year project work preferably at DRDO/ Govt. Labs or in AR & DB funded projects in any institutions during their course work.
Age Criteria: Candidates interested in applying for Scholarships under DRDO Scholarship Scheme for Girls 2020 must meet the age criteria as per the DRDO norms, with relaxation (upper age limit) for reserved categories as applicable
Scholarship Amount for DRDO Scholarship 2020:
- For Undergraduate courses: Rs 1,20,000 per year or Annual fee whichever is less.
- For Postgraduate courses: Rs 1,86,000 per year at Rs 15,500 per month.
