The Government of Odisha has announced the Free Smartphone Yojana for women farmers in the state. The objective of the scheme is to empower women farmers in Odisha and also to provide important updates such as weather information and crop prices etc. The state has the similar scheme for the male farmers and more than fifty thousand smartphones were distributed between 2013 till 2017. Women farmers too were given smartphones who were holding Kisan Credit Card in 2016-17.
Free Smartphone Yojana for Women Farmers in Odisha:
- All the women farmers in the state will be given free smartphones
- These will be Android phones with 4G internet connectivity
Eligibility:
- Only women farmers can apply
- Women farmers residing in Odisha only are eligible to get free phones

Exact details on the online application procedure is yet to be confirmed but the government is planning to launch a online portal for registration and application for Free Smartphone Yojana for women farmers. To get the free smartphones, women in the state will require to make online registration during the Kharip season. Once the online application forms are available this section will be updated to provide step by step application procedure.
