Central government has announced welfare program for returning migrates. The program name is “Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan” (गरीब कल्याण रोजगार अभियान). This initiative will be lunched on 20 June, 2020 by PM Narendra Modi from village Telihar, Block Beldaur of Khagaria district of Bihar through video conference with the presence of Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi. Government will be implementing this program in 116 districts of the 6 states are Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Odisha. Government will provides 25 schemes with in 125 days and create infrastructure in rural area under the Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan.
With this program government will give job opportunities to more than 25,000 migrants labours or workers who came back to their state during lock down. Villages of 116 districts in 6 states will get connected to the program by Common Service Centres and Krishi Vigyan Kendras. This program will be developed by 12 different ministries such as Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Road Transport and Highways, Drinking Water and Sanitation, Environment, Mines, Railways, New and Renewable Energy, Petroleum and Natural Gas, Border Roads, Telecom and Agriculture
