Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) is the flagship scheme of Prime Minister Shree Narendra Modi to provide quality medicines at affordable prices for all. The PM vision is to reduce expenses on medicines by providing generic medicines at the minimum possible prices. Thousands of generic medicine stores are opned across India called as Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra (PMBJK) / Jan Aushadhi Stores (JAS) which sells generic medicines. It also provides employment opportunities, those who are unemployment can now start their own Jan Aushadhi Store and earn upto Rs. 25,000 – Rs. 30,000 per month. Presently there are 30,000 Jan Aushadhi stores across different parts of India and government wants to open a lot more to provide relief all everyone in the country.

The government has simplified the application process now and has also waived off application fees and processing fees. Moreover government provides subsidy of Rs. 2.50 lakh to open such medical stores. The application for the store can be made under any of three categories:

  1. Individuals Entrepreneurs/Unemployed Pharmacists/Doctors/Registered Medical Practitoners
  2. NGO Hospitals/Charitable Institutions/Private Hospitals/Trust/Societies/Self help Group
  3. State Government Nominated Agencies

Any one who is employed / unemployed or wants to start the business can apply under category 1. Individuals Entrepreneurs / Unemployed Pharmacists / Doctors / Registered Medical Practitioners.

Eligibility for opening Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra (PMBJK):

  • In case of individual applicant; he/she must have B. Pharma and D. Pharma degrees
  • In case of organization`s application for store, they must employ a B. Pharma and D. Pharma qualified person before the application

Requirement for opening Jan Aushadhi Store (JAS):

  • 120 square foot commercial space for opening store
  • Rs. 1-2 lakh for setting up the medical shop (desk, benches, chair, computer etc & purchase of initial stock). NOTE: this amount will be refunded by the government in first six months
  • Proof of employing pharmacist with name registered with the State Medical Council
  • In case of SC/ST or disabled the caste/disability certificates are required

PMBJK Margins and Incentives:

  • 20% commission on the amount of drugs sold
  • 10% incentive on the monthly sale apart from trade margin

Documents Required for Jan Aushadhi Store application:

  • AADHAAR card
  • Pan card
  • Disability certificate (in case of disability)
  • Caste certificate (for SC/ST applicant)
  • Pharmacist registration certificate

STEP 2: CLICK HERE to go to login page & login with your username and password

STEP 3: Upon successful login you will be taken to the Application Form, make sure you fill in the form for the individuals

STEP 4: Fill in the complete form and click on Submit button
