K Chandrasekhar Rao to launch 3 schemes in Telangana: Kanti Velugu, Farmer’s insurance scheme & Welfare Scheme for backward classes

The Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrashekhar Rao will launch three schemes Kanti Velugu, Farmers Insurance Scheme & Backward Classes in the state next month. The Kanti Velugu and Farmers Insurance scheme will launch on 15 August 2018. While the Backward Classes scheme will launched in the first week of August. With the Backward Classes scheme youth from the of BCs will get financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to 80,000 directly from a government to start self-employment enterprise.

Kanti Velugu Programme

  • Kanti Velugu Programme is a statewide program called as Telangana Kanti Velugu
  • The objective of this programme is to make Avoidable Blindness Free Telangana
  • 30-40% people in the Telangana state are identified with the eye related diseases and disorders
  • The program will be launched on the Independence Day August 15 2018
  • The scheme will be implemented across the state
  • The objective of the scheme is to ensure better vision of the people of the state
  • Free eye checkups and medication will be given to people
  • Free eye surgeries and spectacle also will be provided across the state
  • Chief Minister KCR will start this scheme from his home constituency Gajwel
  • Eyes related diseases such as cataract, glaucoma, retinopathy and corneal disorders will also be treated under the scheme
  • Free eye test of over 3.5 crore people of the state to be conducted
  • Government has formed 799 teams of doctors for the programme which includes MBBS, Optometrist, ANM and others specialists
  • 114 government and private hospitals are identified for conducting eye tests

Farmer’s Insurance Scheme, Telangana

  • Farmer’s Insurance Scheme for the farmers in the Telangana
  • A MoU has been signed between the LIC and Telangana government to implement the scheme
  • Farmers in the age group of 18 to 59 will be covered under the scheme
  • They will ger insurance cover of Rs. 5 lakh
  • The implementation of the scheme will start from the 15th August 2018
  • Government to pay premium of Rs. 2,271 for each policy
  • Rs 1,000 crore has been sanctioned for this scheme
  • The death claims will be settled within 10 days by LIC and Rs. 5 lakh will be given to the nominee immediately
  • Farmers dont need to pay anything for the scheme, not even premium
  • Total premium required for the scheme will be given to LIC on 1st August
  • 40.64 lakh farmers have already registered for the insurance scheme
  • On August 15, the CM will give policy documents to some farmers of the state to launch the scheme

Welfare Scheme for Backward Classes

  • A welfare scheme for the Backward Classes in the Telangana
  • A financial grant of Rs. 50,000 will be given to the youth to start their own business
  • Rs 80,000 will be given to the BC youth for up-gradation of the business
  • The objective of the scheme is to empower the community
  • The scheme will provide self employment and employment opportunities to the unemployed youth in the state
