Kalakriti Fellowship is offered by the Sanskriti Foundation every year in Performing Arts to young performing artists who wish to contribute towards enriching their respective art form. Sanskriti Foundation invites applications preferably from females who have at least ten years of initial training in Indian classical dance. The objective of the fellowship is to encourage young artists to develop their potential and enhance their skills through intensive practice and incorporating different facets of their art. The scheme will be managed by the Sanskriti Pratishthan, which has been giving similar awards over the past 25 years. While this fellowship specially encourages women applicants, all proposals that further the objectives of the program are welcome.
Benefits of Kalakriti Fellowship- Indian Classical Dance:
- The selected candidates will be provided with a scholarship amount of Rs. 50000 will be paid in two instalments
- I Instalment : The first instalment will be paid to the fellows at the start of Fellowship and the fellows will be required to submit a short mid-term progress report
- II Instalment: The second instalment will be given to the student after the submission of complete project report when the fellow may be requested to give a dance recital
Required Eligibility and Conditions for Applying Kalakriti Fellowship- Indian Classical Dance:
- The candidates applying should be Indian Nationals
- The applicants must be between 25 to 40 of age
- The Kalakriti fellowship encourages women applicants to apply
- Candidates should have a minimum of ten years of training in Indian classical dance
- Applicants should have made 2-3 solo performances in recognized forums
- The applicants must take a guidance from another senior guru and enhance the existing style
- Successful applicants may have to take a residency for three months and the candidate should take consent from her current guru
Document Required for Applying Kalakriti Fellowship- Indian Classical Dance:
- The applicants should attach a two-page CV
- A write up should be included which should explain about the project in a maximum of 500 words
- The candidates should include their full postal, telephonic contact details and the e-mail id
- Candidates are also expected submit few samples of previous work, project or performances should be submitted
- Applicants need to add the names and contact addresses/telephones of two referees
Application procedure: There are two ways, by which the candidates can submit the Research Proposal, Curriculum Vitae and contact/address and these are
- Submit through Post: The application can be send by post to the given address with giving the title ‘Sanskriti – Kalakriti Fellowship’ on the top of the envelope. The postal address is “Sanskriti Foundation, C-11, Qutab Institutional Area, New Delhi-110 016”
