Kalyan Lakshmi/ Shaadi Mubarak Scheme, Telangana

Telangana government launched a new scheme named ‘Kalyan Lakshmi/ Shaadi Mubarak’ to provide assistance to the brides in minority families in the state of Telangana. Kalyan Lakshmi is for the Hindu minority brides and Shaadi Mubarak is for brides belonging to the Muslim community. The scheme is launched by the government to empower women in the state in the year 2014. Under this initiative a one-time financial assistance of Rs. 1,00,116/- will be provided to the minority girls at the time of marriage. All the brides from SC/ ST/ BC/ EBC will be covered under Kalyan Lakshmi Pathakam and all the brides from Muslim community will be covered under Shaadi Mubarak. The amount of financial assistance under the scheme will be provided to the beneficiary’s mothers bank account through direct bank transfer. For availing the benefit beneficiaries are required to register themselves on the official portal @telanganaepass.cgg.gov.in. This scheme tends to make women independent and empower them thereby.

Scheme Objectives and Benefits:

• The main objective of this scheme is to provide assistance to the girls belonging to minority communities
• It is a token of love and assistance to the brides for their marriage
• Financial assistance of Rs. 1,00,116/- will be provided directly into the respective bank accounts of the bride’s mother
• This scheme will help those parents who are financially weak and cannot fulfill their wish of arranging their daughter’s marriage due to financial constraints
• It will improve the economic status of the female population in the state thereby making them independent and empowered.

Eligibility:

• Bride should be a resident of Telangana state only
• Bride should have attained 18 years of legal age respectively.
• She should belong to minority community as prescribed
• Total income limit prescribed for SC/ ST/ BC(urban)/ EBC (urban) and Muslim communities is Rs. 2,00,000/- per annum
• Total income limit prescribed for BC (rural)/ EBC (rural) communities is Rs. 1,50,000/- per annum

Documents Required:

• Aadhaar Card
• Age Proof
• Caste certificate
• Copy of Certificate of Marriage
• Income Certificate
• Bank Account details of the mother of the bride
• Passport sized photo of the bride

How to Apply:

The applicant has to visit the official website @ telanganaepass.cgg.gov.in

• Scroll down to Kalyan Lakshmi/ Shaadi Mubarak section link on the home page
• Click on Registration tab for Kalyan Lakshmi/ Shaadi Mubarak as applicable.

• Accordingly, the registration form will be displayed
• Fill in the details for eligibility like, name, name of the father, Aadhaar number, caste, sub caste, income, qualification, address, bank account details, bride groom’s details, marriage details, etc

• Upload required documents in prescribed format and size
• Enter the code as given and click on submit
• After verification of the form the same will be approved and the amount of financial assistance will be transferred to the bride’s mother’s bank account
• Applicant can check the form status by clicking on the Print/ Status tab
• Enter the UID and Phone number and click on get status/ print

• Applicant can also edit the form details or upload any documents as required by clicking on the Edit/ Upload option

• Bank remittance details can also be tracked from the same website
• In case of any issues or grievances the same can be lodged as well
• Click on the grievance option and enter the details
• Click on submit. Grievance status can also be tracked thereby
