Uttar Pradesh government has newly launched ‘Mahila Samarthya Yojana’ for the women in Uttar Pradesh. Scheme details were announced in the state budget on February 22, 2021. This scheme mainly aims at women empowerment and increased standard of living through women-oriented Home & Cottage Industries. Under this scheme women will provide with market place to sell their produce. It will tend to focus on making women independent through emphasising on the women-oriented enterprises. This scheme will be operated in about 800 blocks of the state. It will come into force in phases, whereby 1st phase will be covering 200 blocks in the state. This scheme will be operated in state as well as district level.
