The Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das announced a scheme for farmers called as Meethi Kranti Yojana (Sweet Revolution Scheme). Bee keeping training along with the unit worth Rs. 1 lakh will be given by the government. Farmers can start a side business of bee keeping & selling honey. Rs. 80,000 will be given as a grant where as farmers needs to invest Rs. 20,000. The objective of the scheme is to quadruple farmer`s income by 2022.

State Government has alloted budget of Rs. 100 crores for the scheme. 1207 farmers will be selected for the scheme & given training along with the assistance to start the honey business.

Beneficiary farmers just needs to invest Rs. 20,000 & start earning upto Rs. 1.30 lakh every year. Government has started Meethi Kranti Yojana (Sweet Revolution Scheme) after the success of the blue revolution. Scheme is applicable to all 27 districts of the state.
Honey Processing Unit in Jharkhand.
The CM announced that the state government is in the process of starting a honey processing unit in the state. The government is already in talks with Swami Ramdev`s Patanjali Yogpeeth.
