Elections will be held in Mizoram for the state legislative assembly on 28th November 2018. The tenuer of the Mizoram Vidhan Sabha is ending in December 2018. The Election Commission of India has announced the Mizoram Assembly Elections 2018 Dates. Four more states Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Chattisgargh and Rajasthan will be going for polls 2018 at the same time.

- Last date of filling nominations / candidature (submission of election form): 09th November 2018
- Scrutiny of nominations: 12th November 2018
- Last date of withdrawal of nominations: 14th November 2018
- Date of polling/voting for Vidhan Sabha: 28th November 2018
- Date of counting / poll result announcements: 11th December 2018
The Mizoram state elections 2018 schedule was announced by the Election Commissioner O.P. Rawat in the official press conference. All the election procedures will be completed in the November-December 2018 time frame. The state will have one phase election all polling / voting across the state will happen on the same day i.e. 28th November. The elections results will be announced along with the results of the other 4 state i.e. on 11th December 2018.
The Mizoram state legislative assembly / vidhan sabha has total 40 seats. Lal Thanhawla is the incumbent chief minister of the state. The Indian National Congress (INC) is ruling since December 2008 in the state. National level parties such as Indian National Congress (INC), Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and state level parties such as Mizo National Front (MNF) and independent candidates will be taking part in the state elections 2018. Since the Mizoram Assembly Elections 2018 Dates are announced in Mizoram model code of conduct is now enforced in the state and the state government has limited power and parties are under the election commission watch now till the election results in December. All the parties are identified candidates and Congree, BJP and MNF will soon be announcing candidates list and distributing election tickets for the state elections 2018.
