The Chief Minister of Jharkhand Raghubar Das has announced Mukhya Mantri Krishi Ashirvad Yojana (MKAY) for farmers in the state. Government will provide financial assistance / incentives along with subsidy to the poor & marginal farmers in the state. The Jharkhand government has alloted budget of Rs. 2,250 cores for the scheme & is expected to benefit 22.76 lakh poor & medium scale farmers.
The objective of the scheme is to remove financial burden from the farmers & increase their income. The implementation of the scheme will start from the financial year 2019-20.
Jharkhand Mukhya Mantri Krishi Ashirvad Yojana (MKAY): A scheme to provide financial assistance to the farmer in the state.
Mukhya Mantri Krishi Yojana Ashirvad Benefits:
- Financial assistance for Rs. 5,000 to farmers
- The money can be used for purchasing seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, to pay farm labor fees & other agricultural expenses
MKAY Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicable only in Jharkhand
- Poor & marginal farmers only are eligible under the scheme
- All those farmers who has between 1 acre to 5 acre cultivable land
Money to be paid via DBT & other modes.
The financial assistance provided under the scheme will provided using cheques or through direct debit transfer mode to the farmers. The state government is committed to the PM Naredra Modi`s vision to double farmers income by 2022. The state government is spending Rs. 66 crore per year for 14.85 lakh farmers in the state. They are given zero interest crop loan & Fasal Bima Yojana.
The Mukhya Mantri Krishi Ashirvad Yojana is also expected to create more employment opportunities in the state. Government is also working on create agricultural markets so that farmers can directly sell their produce.
