Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana (MTYY) Delhi: free pilgrimage for senior citizens | Eligibility, documents required and how to apply?

The Aam Admi Party led government of Delhi had approved Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana (MTYY) scheme for senior citizens of the state. The scheme is announced by the Chief Minister Shree Aravind Kejriwal. Under the scheme the government will sponsor senior citizens pilgrimage to various important religions destinations in India. The government will bear the expenses of all 77,000 pilgrims every year which includes travel, accommodation and stay. The senior citizens (people above 60 years of age) are eligible under the scheme. A person whos age is more than 18 years can accompany the senior citizens group. The government will bear the cost of the person accompanying the senior citizens group. His job is to take care of them and help them where ever required or in case of emergency.

1,100 senior citizens from every 70 constituencies of Delhi will able every year to take advantage of this scheme. The applicant needs to provide self-attested copies of their documents for address proof, age proof and date of birth proof. The duration of the scheme will be three days and two nights. The government will insure them with the insurance of Rs. 1 lakh.

  • All application form will be available online
  • The application forms also will be available in the Office of Divisional Commissioner or the Office of respective MLA or the Office of Teerth Yatra Committee
  • The selection will be done through draw of lottery
  • Respective MLA of the area will have to certify the residents belonging to Delhi

  • The Delhi government had approved this scheme and will be implemented soon
  • 77,000 pilgrims will be benefited from the scheme and government will bear the expenses of this pilgrims
  • A person above 18 years of age can accompany the senior citizens group and he will be sponsored by the government too
  • 1,100 senior citizens from every 70 constituencies of Delhi every year to undertake free pilgrim tour
  • The pilgrimage duration will be three days and two nights
  • Rs 1 lakh insurance will be drawn for those applicants get selected for pilgrimage
  • The travel will be arranged in the air-conditioned buses through Delhi Tourism & Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC)
