On March 25, 2021, Haryana government came up with a new scheme to promote solar energy usage in the state. Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitaran Nigam (DHBVN) announced the scheme details as per the guidelines of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. Under this scheme, people will be encouraged to install solar power systems on the rooftops of their houses at subsidized rates. 40% subsidy will be provided for a 3-kilowatt system and 20% subsidy will be provided for a 4–10-kilowatt solar system in a house. Through installation of solar system of 1-kilowatt people can save up to Rs. 6000 in a year as well as reduce the pertaining electricity bills thereby.
