New Scheme for Teaching the differently abled children

To provide support and assistance to the differently-abled children in the state for ensuring their welfare.

On August 26, 2021 Tamil Nadu government announced a new scheme for teaching the differently abled children. This announcement was made by Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi through an official statement from the office. Under this scheme school children with disabilities under the age of 18 who are not able to go to schools due to multiple physical and intellectual disabilities will be covered. This scheme will assist such children by providing a financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 for their requirements. The state government will also provide trained therapists and special educators for such children. This scheme tends to ensure that no child is deprived of education in the state.

  • The department would also provide sports equipment worth Rs. 35 crores to the government schools in the state.
  • It is a scholarship scheme for the specially-abled students for pursuing Technical higher education.
