The Government of Delhi has decided to implement odd-even rule for third time in Delhi from 13t November for 5 days in Delhi. The move comes after the present smog situation in the National Capital Region. During these days, the private vehicles can run based on their registered numbers.
Highlights of the Odd-Even rule in Delhi November 2017:
- Government of Delhi will implement odd-even car rationing rule for 5 days starting from 13th November till midnight of 17th November 2017
- The government had to implement the rule again due to the poisonous smog cover in Delhi for past couple of days
- During these 5 days only odd cars (cars with last digits on their number plate is odd) can run on the odd day and the even cars (cards with last digits on their number plate is even) can run on even days
- The rule is applicable only for the private vehicles only
- Taxi services are not allowed to charge extra or surge pricing during these days according to Delhi transport minister Kailash Gahlot
- This rule is not applicable to bikes/two wheelers, three wheelers
- All the vehicles which runs on CNG, battery/electric operated and hybrid vehicles can be used freely during this period and this odd-even rule is not applicable on them
- Delhi Transport corporation will run extra 500 private buses, Delhi Metro too will run 100 extra buses to provide last mile connectivity during the odd-even implementation week
- Ambulances, police, fire, hospital, VVIP vehicles are exempted from the rule
