Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY): free LPG gas connection scheme to be launched on April 14 in Telangana

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) PM Narendra Modi`s ambitious scheme will be launched on 14th April in Telangana. Under the scheme free LPG gas connections are provided. The Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will be launching the scheme in Suryapet. Close to 1000 gas connections will be provided on the launch day.

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) – free LPG gas connection scheme Telangana Highlights:

  • To be launched on April 14th 2018 in Suryapet in Telangana
  • 3 public sector oil marketing companies IOC, BPCL and HPCL will be implementing the PMUY scheme across the state
  • They combines are targeting 2-3 lakh gas connections to be given
  • The use of LPG gas is high in Telangana and the state already has Deepam Scheme under for LPG connections
  • The total demand for PMUY is going to be high in Telangana, close to 20 lakh
  • Presently there are 94.36 lakh LPG gas holders in the state

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) EMI options to buys stove and gas cylinder.

  • EMI options are available to buy gas stove and first gas cylinder or gas refill
  • The EMI will be deducted from the LPG subsidy amount credited to the bank account of the consumer /gas connection holder
  • The first EMI installment will start from the supply of 7th refill cylinder

Cash assistance under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY):

  • PMUY is the center government scheme
  • The target of the scheme is to be achieved by the year 2020
  • The center government provides cash assistance of Rs. 1,600 per connection to oil & gas companies (OMCs)
  • The cash assistance covers the security deposit of the cylinder and pressure regulator as well as installation/demonstration charges along with the blue (DGCC) booklet
  • Installation and demonstration charges will go to the LPG dealer

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) Extended: The scope of the PMUY scheme is extended by the government and it now includes:

  • SC/ST households
  • Beneficiaries of PMAY (Gramin)
  • Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) beneficiaries
  • Most-backward classes
  • Tea and ex-tea garden tribes
  • People residing in islands and rivers

Under the new Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana PMUY guidelines;

  • The connections will be given in the name of woman of the BPL household
  • Considering the safety aspects, the connections would be provided only to those living in ‘pucca’ houses
