Prime minister fellowship for Doctoral Research

The key of a nation’s economic development is the quantity and quality of its human resource, particularly in Science & Technology. India has a third largest higher education system in the world we also have the third largest pool of science and technology professionals. The scheme is for supporting aspiring PhD scholars with double scholarship in which 50% of which will be provided by government and balance 50% by a sponsoring industry, for doing research for four years and the research fellow will receive PhD degree by doing this industrial research. This scheme is instituted for scientific and industrial research, called the Prime Minister Fellowship Scheme for Doctoral Research, where up to 100 talented students will be selected every year to receive scholarship.

  • Prime minister fellowship scheme for Doctoral Research provides benefits in the form of financial assistance for PhD Research
  • There are 100 Fellowship is awarded every year by the Government of India
  • The total fellowship amount will be Rs. 6 lakh per annum for a maximum period of four years

Required Eligibility and Conditions for Prime minister Fellowship scheme for Doctoral Research:

  1. only those who have already registered for PhD in any recognised university or institution of national importance in above areas of research will be eligible to apply
  2. The registered PhD fellows should have already identified a project
  3. The project should have practical relevance and industrial applications
  4. The candidate and the proposed project should qualify on criteria of excellence and relevance
  5. Applications with project proposals, as received will be shared with relevant industry to know their interest in co-sponsoring. Scholarships will be given if there is an industry sponsor
  6. The candidates may approach relevant industry for sponsorships before submitting applications
  7. The research duration should not be more than four years leading to award of PhD degree to the doctoral fellow

  1. Passport size photos
  2. Graduate and post graduate degree certificates
  3. Caste certificate
  4. Cast validity if required
  5. Aadhar card
  6. Identity proof e.g. voter ID, Driving license
  7. Previous year Mark sheet
  8. Bank details, account holder name, account number , IFSC code, MICR code
  9. Research related proof if any available e.g. IEEE paper
  10. Details of research for which candidate is applying
  11. Disability certificate if candidate is

Application Procedure:

  1. Applications have to be submitted on-line For application log on to: primeministerfellowshipscheme.com
  2. Fill the application form properly and attached all required documents along with signature
  3. Candidates will be shortlist on the basis of merit
  4. Shortlist candidates will get call for interview
  5. And then candidate will be selected
