Social Justice and Special Assistance Department gives Rajarshi Chatrapati Shahu Maharaj Merit Awards to the students belonging to Scheduled Castes. The objective of the scheme is to encourage schedule caste students by giving them the award in the form of financial assistance. This award is given to students who come first in in Maharashtra from the General Merit list, stands first in the Divisional Board, come first in General Merit list in the Divisional Board, stand first in the District, first in the respective Taluka or first in the schools. This award is given to the students of 10th and 12th. This scheme will encourage SC communities and it will also increase their rate of attainment in higher education and enhance their employability and empowerment through education and increase of the socio-economic conditions of the SC communities. This is the unique initiative take by government of Maharashtra. These awards are only for students who are studies in Maharashtra. The awards given for different merit list is different. Rajarshi Chatrapati Shahu Maharaj Merit Awards gives award from minimum Rs. 5000/- to Rs. 2.50 lakh.
Benefits of Rajarshi Chatrapati Shahu Maharaj Merit Awards:
- Scheduled Caste student’s stands first in Maharashtra from the General Merit list will get Rs. 2.50 Lakh
- Scheduled Caste student’s stands first in the Divisional Board will get Rs. 1.00 Lakh
- Scheduled Caste students stand in General Merit list in the Divisional Board will get Rs. 50,000/-
- Scheduled Caste students stand first in the District will get Rs. 25,000/-
- Scheduled Caste students stand first in the respective Taluka will get Rs. 10,000/-
- Scheduled Caste students stand first in the schools will get Rs. 5,000/-
Required Eligibility and Conditions for Applying Rajarshi Chatrapati Shahu Maharaj Merit Awards:
- Rajarshi Chatrapati Shahu Maharaj Merit Awards will given to the following students:
- Student’s stands first in Maharashtra from the General Merit list
- Student’s stands first in the Divisional Board
- Students stand in General Merit list in the Divisional Board
- Students stand first in the District
- Students stand first in the respective Taluka
- Students stand first in the schools
- The student must be domiciled in Maharashtra
- The student must belong to Scheduled Caste Category
Document required for applying Rajarshi Chatrapati Shahu Maharaj Merit Awards:
- Caste Certificate
- Domicile certificate
- Xerox copies of Mark sheets and certificates for passing the standard 10th or 12th
- Caste Verification certificate
- Any ID proof
